This specimen was lot 482 in Jean Elsen price list 258 (Brussels, October 2011) where it was offered for €3750 (about US$5,241). The catalog description noted,
"ITALIE, MILAN, Francesco Sforza (1450-1466), AV ducat, Droit : (guivre) FRANCISCHVS· SFORTIA VIC' B. cuirassé à droite. Revers : + DVX MED-IOLANI· Z C'· Le duc chevauchant à droite, en armure, brandissant son épée. Ref.: Très Rare. Surfrappé sur un ducat du pape Pie II (1458-1464). Très Beau. (Duchy of Milan, Frncesco Sforza, 1450-66, ducat. Obverse: armored bust to right; reverse: mounted knight, armed cap a pie, charges to right, brandishing a sword. Very rare, struck over a ducat of pope Pius II (1458-1464), very fine.)"
