Sincona sale 79, lot 1209

This specimen was lot 1209 in Sincona sale 79 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,079 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, William III. 1694-1702. Guinea 1700, London. Second laureate bust, small lions in arms. NGC F15." This type was struck 1695-97 with (Fr-314) and without (shown here) the elephant and castle below the busts. After the death of his wife, William III ruled alone until his death in 1701.
