Sincona sale 75, lot 175

This specimen was lot 173 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,642 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Grossbritannien | Königreich. William III. 1694-1702. 1/2 Guinea 1700, London. Laureate bust, stop after HIB. NGC UNC Details. Leicht gereinigt. (kingdom of Great Britain, William III, 1694-1702, half guinea of 1700, London mint. Uncirculated, lightly cleaned.)"

This type was struck 1697-1700. Half guineas of 1698 are known with the elephant and castle below the bust. These obtain a substantial premium.
