Sincona sale 76, lot 1512

This specimen was lot 1512 in Sincona sale 76 (Zurich, May 2022), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$243 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Batthyani, Fürstentum, Ludwig, 1788-1806. 20 Kreuzer 1790, Wien. Mit der Signatur I N WIRT (Johann Nepomuk Würth (Wirt, Wirth), Stempelschneider in Wien, seit 1778-1811). Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS62. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Austria, principality of Batthyani, Louis, 1788-1806, twenty kreuzer of 1790, Vienna mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"

This prince of Hungarian origin struck a thaler in 1788 (KM 8), this half thaler in 1789, a twenty kreuzer in 1790 (KM 12) and a ducat in 1791 (KM 13). All are rare.
