England (1413-22) 1/4 noble Fr-111
This specimen was lot 33968 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $492. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Henry V gold 1/4 Noble ND (1413-1422) UNC Details (Damaged) NGC, Tower mint, Pierced Cross mm, Class F. A rarely encountered monarch in the British hammered gold series, this being one of a mere 2 examples of his quarter nobles yet seen by NGC, with the noted damage hardly overtly distracting, and likely contained to some localized scuffing on the reverse." Three gold coins are listed for this reign: a noble (Fr-109), half noble (Fr-110) and this quarter noble (Fr-111).
