This specimen is one of a type struck at the Royal Mint for the Bahamas 1974-89. In 1974 the bust of the queen was dropped in favor of the arms of the Bahamas. In 1991, the weight was reduced. The Franklin Mint produced the proofs 1970-85. A Bahamian sloop glides across the reverse.
Recorded mintage: 1,600,000 plus 1,980 proofs.
Specification: 6.9 g, nickel, 24.26 mm diameter.
