This specimen was lot 13026 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $3,819. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. Franc, 1844. NGC PROOF-67. Wide reeding. Toned with cobalt highlight coloring on obverse and periphery of reverse." This type was struck 1833-44 at the Brussels mint. The specification matches the French franc of Louis Philippe.
Recorded mintage: 2,196,000 for 1843-44.
