This specimen was lot 22167 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Ducat, 1847-A. Vienna Mint. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. This type was also struck at Kremnitz (B), Karlsburg (E) and Venice (V). An attractive, flashy example and presently the single finest graded by PCGS." This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna (shown here), Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
