This specimen was lot 3663 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $138. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. Peso, 1896-Mo M. Eagle. Reverse: Value within wreath. Uncirculated." This Mexico City issue is common; assayer B is also noted for the year.

Recorded mintage: 7,166 (assayer B and M).

Specification: 1.69 g, .875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
