Great Britain 1746 farthing
This specimen was lot 3828 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing, 1746. George II (1727-60). PCGS MS-64 BN Secure Holder. Glossy mahogany toning with traces of mint orange luster around some devices." This type was struck 1746-54 and is not rare in worn condition but very scarce choice; the lucky bidder on this lot obtained a bargain.
