Denmark 1686-GS 2 skilling

from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10286

This specimen was lot 10286 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €336 (about US$350). The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1686-GS. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC MS-63. Exceptional lustrous example, scarce for this small nominal. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1686 only but many varieties exist, suggesting a substantial output. Two skilling was 1/48 speciedaler or 1/32 krone.
