This specimen was lot 480 in Sincona sale 84 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 44,000 CHF (about US$59,251 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 50 Kopecks 1889, St. Petersburg Mint, (AG). Proof. Extremely rare in this condition. 4 roubles according to Petrov. 3 roubles according to Ilyin. NGC PF64 CAMEO. Cabinet piece with beautiful toning. From the Soedermann Collection, auction SINCONA 12, Zurich, October 2013, lot 924 (price realized: CHF 70,000). With the expertise by "Russian Numismatic House Ltd", signed by B.V. Uetskiy."
This type is listed for 1886-94, superseding the old poltina or half ruble. All dates are scarce. Alexander III ruled 1881-94.
