This specimen was lot 32155 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia: Alexander III 50 Kopecks 1887-AГMS63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Obv. Head of Alexander III right. Rev. Crowned Imperial eagle with date and value below. Mottled gray and argent-gray patina with full underlying mint luster and well-executed features." This type is listed for 1886-94, superseding the old poltina or half ruble. All dates are scarce. Alexander III ruled 1881-94.
