This specimen was lot 1588 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $9,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 50 Kopek, 1886-AT. NGC MS-64. Light attractive toning with nice eye appeal." This type is listed for 1886-94, superseding the old poltina or half ruble. All dates are scarce. Alexander III ruled 1881-94.
