Sincona sale 93, lot 1267

This specimen was lot 1267 in Sincona sale 93 (Zürich, October 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Alexander III. 1881-1894, 25 Kopecks 1889, St. Petersburg Mint, (AG). Sehr selten, nur 1'002 Exemplare geprägt. Vorzüglich-FDC. Feine Patina, Very rare, only 1,002 specimen[s] struck. 3 roubles according to Petrov. 3 roubles according to Ilyin, About Uncirculated, Nicely toned."

This type is listed for 1886-94 but all dates are scarce and the 1889 is rare. Proofs exist.

Recorded mintage: 1,002 plus proofs.
