Peru 1808-L JP 2 escudos
This coin was minted in Lima, Peru, of a type struck 1792-1808. This specimen was lot 3506 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $690. The catalog description[1] noted, "1808 JP 2 escudos. Lima mint. AU-53 (NGC). Types as above. Medium gold, minor obverse planchet flaw through date and into bust. From the John H. Clapp Collection; Clapp estate to Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr., 1942."
