This specimen was lot 99109 in Heritage sale 61259 (Dallas, TX, February 2022), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "France: Louis XV gold 1/2 Louis d'Or 1726-BB AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, Strasbourg mint. 1/2 Louis d'Or aux lunettes. A charming fractional Louis d'Or displaying lemon-gold surfaces and only minor instances of handling witnessed to the highpoints of the bust, marred by notable wisps and cause for the conditional qualifier." The type was struck 1726-39. Like all half louis, it is rare but this issue is probably the most available of all demi-louis d'or. The Strasbourg mint struck this type 1726, 1730, 1732, 1734-35; only the 1726 is common.

Recorded mintage: 35,200, the second highest mintage date after 1726-A.

Specification: 4.08 g, 0.917 fine gold, reeded edge, reeded edge, designed by J.-C. Roëttiers.
