This specimen was lot 22571 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alexander II Rouble 1873 CПБ-HI, Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle / Crowned date and value in wreath, MS62 ANACS. Fully prooflike fields with sharply defined devices and light contact marks. Very scarce in Mint State." This type was struck 1859-85 in respectable quantities but not so many as the prior type (Dav-283).

Recorded mintage: 673,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
