Russia 1869-SP 1/2 kopek
This specimen was lot 2186 in Goldberg's NY International sale 59 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "½ Kopeck 1869 CПБ. Rare. Authenticated and graded by NGC MS 63 BN (# 4501409-062). Orange claret-brown with a cobalt blue undertone. Choice brilliant uncirculated." This type was struck at Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg 1867-81. It is common despite the modest mintage. The 4 g weight given by the SCWC is much too high.
