This specimen was lot 75292 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 2 Kopeks, 1853-EM. Ekaterinburg Mint. Nicholas I. NGC AU-58. Nearly uncirculated, this nice Russian copper displays great details and just a hint of wearing." This type was struck 1850-60 at Ekaterinburg and Warsaw and is common in circulated condition. The type was slightly modified in 1859 and the subsequent design (Y4a.1) was struck 1859-67.
