Sincona sale 19, lot 417

This specimen was lot 417 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 2,800 (about US$3,509 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Denga 1805, Suzun Mint, KM. Rare. 3 roubles according to Iljin. 3 roubles according to Trapeznikov. Planchet defect. Very fine to extremely fine." The denga was half a kopek. This type is listed for 1804-06 from Izhora and is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 59,000.

Specification: 6.5 g, copper, this specimen 5.64 g.
