This specimen was lot 73081 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1805-CNB OT. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander I. NGC FINE-15. Incredibly wholesome despite displaying signs of significant past circulation, with deep tone in the minimally marked fields and lighter highpoints where friction has softened the designs." The SCWC records this product of the St. Petersburg mint (СПБ) for 1802-05, with mintmaster FG (ФГ for Fedor Gelman) for 1803-11. The type is much scarcer than later rubles of Alexander I (1811-26).
