This specimen was lot 3895 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$822 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Baden, Grossherzogtum Münzstätte Karlsruhe Friedrich I. 1852-1907. 5 Mark 1900. Kl. Kr. Vorzüglich-fast FDC. (Grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, five mark of 1900. Cleaned, extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This regular issue five mark was emitted 1891-1902. It is not rare but expensive in nice condition as is the silver two mark.
Recorded mintage: 128,000 plus a few proofs.
Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
