from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11261

This specimen was lot 11261 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €85 (about US$89). The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 2 Öre, 1609. Stockholm Mint. Karl IX 1604-1611. NGC AU Details--Holed. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck at Stockholm 1608-11 the hole shown on this example is probably as struck. Other two öre (KM 35) were struck at Gothenburg with a different reverse. One riksdaler was 48 öre or six mark.

Specifications: 1.58 g, 0.500 fine silver, 20-21 mm diameter, this specimen 1.35 g.
