from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11262

This specimen was lot 11262 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €408 (about US$425). The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 4 Mark, 1610. Stockholm Mint. Karl IX 1604-1611. NGC VF-30. Scratch and old ink inventory (208) on obverse. Variation with MEVM. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." One riksdaler was 48 öre or six mark. This type, struck 1607-11 in numerous varieties, traded for two-thirds of a riksdaler.
