This specimen was lot 71575 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Öre, 1611. Stockholm Mint. Carl IX (1604-11). PCGS EF-45 Secure Holder. Struck in low grade billon 1609-11 at Stockholm (shown here) and Gothenburg. Crude strike, deeply toned. A wholesome problem free example that is well centered." In the pre-reform Swedish coinage, 8 öre = one mark and 48 öre = one riksdaler. This type was struck 1609-11. Later, in the 1620's, copper öre were introduced but the production of billon öre pieces never quite ceased.
