Heritage sale 3029, lot 31775
Sweden 1718 1-6 ore rev H3029-31775.jpg

This specimen was lot 31775 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl XII 1/6 Ore 1718/6, MS62 Brown NGC. Very attractive with bold features and traces of original luster." This type was struck in large numbers 1707-08 and 1713-18 and then the denomination was abandoned, inflation likely having rendered it worthless. Six of these made one öre and 96 öre = one riksdaler specie.

Recorded mintage: 2,027,000.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM 334.
