Sweden 1718 daler KM-PM38
This specimen was lot 1657 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,586.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Daler Plate Money, 1718. Karl XII (1697-1718). 6.1 x 5.75 in. (Tingstrom: 258 examples known including 60 pieces from the Nicobar). Type A countermark (lion of Gota) applied to the obverse of a 1715 Daler plate. Bold sharp stamps which are full and complete with the exception of one corner stamp being slightly uneven. All four corners clipped prior to minting giving the place an nicely balance appearance. Nice even brown patina with crisp stamps. Very attractive for type. EXTREMELY FINE."
