This specimen was lot 3512 in Sincona sale 51 (Zurich, October 2018), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$483 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Frankreich, I. Kaiserreich. Napoleon I. 1804-1815. 5 Francs AN 13 (1804-1805) U, Turin. Selten. Schön. (France, first empire, Napoleon I, 1804-15, five francs of the year 13, Turin mint. Rare, Fine.)"
Shown is a Napoleonic five francs struck at the Turin mint (mint mark "U") in 1804-05. It is a somewhat common type struck two years only. The various designs of Napoleonic five francs form eight distinct types of which this is the third, struck 1804-06 (AN 13-14) with a complete set of this type comprising 22 date and mintmark combinations, some very rare. This date is rare for the type, being priced twelve times the common date (An 13-A). It was officially withdrawn from circulation in 1928 and demonetized in 2005 but ceased to circulate after World War One.

Specification: 37 mm diameter, 25 grams, 0.900 fine silver, edge lettered DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE, this specimen 24.53 g. Designed by Nicholas Brenet, 1770-1846, and Jean-Pierre Droz, 1746-1823.
