This specimen was lot 29570 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles I 1/2 Crown ND (1632-34) AU55 NGC. Group II, harp mm. An exceptional example of this Civil War type, featuring the the king on horseback with an oval, draped shield and CR at sides. Slightly doubled, but with solid features on both the obverse and reverse. Residual luster remains in the fields and upon rotation, flashes luminously. Several natural planchet flaws exist, but do nothing to detract from the overall appearance of this well-preserved specimen." The SCWC lists over forty different undated half crowns for Charles I, a side effect of the Civil War.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 15.05 g, 0.925 fine silver.
