This specimen was lot 3597 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $293.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 5 Sheqalim, 1984. Holyland Sites - Valley of Kidron. Choice Brilliant Proof." This commemorative is a product of the Bern mint. Similar five sheqalim were struck 1982-85. Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.

Recorded mintage: 2,601 proofs.

Specification: 8.64 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.250 ounce AGW, 22 mm diameter.
