This specimen was lot 74179 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Zeeland. Duit, 1792. Middelburg Mint. NGC MS-65 Brown. Fairly SCARCE overall, especially as attractive as is the case here, this stunning Gem, with a bit of a planchet clip, dazzles with immense luster and stands as the only example of the date in the NGC census." The province issued two different duits in 1792; KM 101.1, struck 1766-92 with a wreath on the reverse, and this one, struck 1792-94 without a wreath. Both are common.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.84 g, copper.
