Künker sale 335, lot 4471

This specimen was lot 4471 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$8,506 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Karl Rudolf von Württemberg-Neuenstadt als Administrator und Vormund von Karl Eugen, 1737-1738. Reichstaler 1737, Stuttgart. RR Feine Patina, min. Kratzer, vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg, Charles Rudolf of Württemberg-Neuenstadt as administrator and regent for Charles Eugene, 1737-38, thaler of 1737, Stuttgart mint. Rare, fine patina, minor scratches, extremely fine.)"

This rare thaler was the first issued since 1728 (Dav-2850). A variety exists (KM 349) without engraver's initials.
