Jean Elsen sale 141, lot 820

This specimen was lot 820 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €170 (about US$225 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 2 centimes, 1847. Superbe à Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper two centimes of 1847. Extremely Fine - Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1833-65 in large quantities but most dates before 1845 are scarce in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 3,432,000, a common date.

Specification: 3.6 g, copper.
