This specimen was lot 41024 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $600. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Haiti|HAITI]]. 2 Centimes, 1881. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Red Brown Gold Shield. This attractive Gem exhibits a needle-sharp strike with well-defined intricate devices and smooth surfaces displaying rich mottled brown patina with plenty of original mint red that accentuates the devices. When rotating in the light areas with a delicate iridescent sheen pop out that catches the eye adding to its pleasing appearance. A very attractive survivor with a good look that is sure to be a very welcome acquisition for its new owner." The coin is the same weight and module as a contemporary French ten centimes. When this denomination was struck again in 1886, a different design was used ([[Haiti 1886-A 2 centimes|KM 49]]).
