This specimen was lot 24040 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAITI. Centime, 1886-A. Paris Mint. NGC MS-65 Red Brown. Elegant and radiant, this alluring Gem offers great red-brown color and wholesome, problem-free surfaces. Ex: Whittier Collection." This type was struck 1886 and 1894-95 during a brief period of political stability in Haiti. All issues seem to have been struck at the Paris mint altho not all are mintmarked. The coin is the same weight and module as a contemporary French five centimes.

Recorded mintage: 2,500,000.
