This specimen was lot 6577 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, WÜRTTEMBERG, Karl, 1864-1891. 20 Mark 1873. Vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Wurttemberg, Charles, 1864-1891, twenty mark of 1873. Extremely fine.)"

This twenty mark gold piece was struck was struck at the Stuttgart mint (mintmark "F") for the kingdom of Wurttemberg in 1872-73. A later, slightly more common type, with a different reverse, was issued 1874 and 1876. This type is not rare.

Recorded mintage: 1,357,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 7.96 g, .900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
