This specimen was lot 6475 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, HESSEN, Ludwig III. 1848-1877. 20 Mark 1873. Vorzüglich. (Germany, grand duchy of Hesse, Louis III, twenty mark of 1873, extremely fine.)"
The Darmstadt mint closed in 1882 and Hessian issues were coined at Berlin thereafter. This type was struck 1872-73. It is the highest mintage Hessian gold coin and the highest mintage Hessian coin of the empire.
