This specimen was lot 40593 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 2 Pounds, 2011. Llantrisant Mint. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo Gold Shield. Maximum Mintage: 1,000. Struck to commemorate the 400th anniversary of first printing of the King James Bible. Interestingly designed with type-setting blocks appearing at the left, and their "impressions" at right. A perfect example of the type, it features yellow gold in the centers with a ring of pink gold at the legends. Accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity." Interestingly, altho the SCWC shows this design in bimetallic copper-nickel/nickel-brass (KM 1200) and sterling silver (KM 1200a), it omits the gold version shown here.

Recorded mintage: unknown plus 1,000 (gold).

Specification: 11.97 g, bimetallic (copper-nickel/nickel-brass, KM 1200), 28.4 mm diameter; 12 g, 0.925 fine silver in gilt ring (KM 1200a); 15.97 g, 0.917 fine gold (KM 1200b).

Catalog reference: S-K28; cf. KM-1200.
