Sincona sale 9, lot 4559

This specimen was lot 4559 in Sincona sale 9 (Zurich, October 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Mesocco - Retegno 2 Filippi 1676. Sehr schön. (Italy, Mesocco-Retegno, two filippi of 1676, very fine.)"

Coinage from this locale, a commune in the duchy of Milan, is scanty and rare. This type, which has two Davenport numbers, is accompanied by a triple (Dav-4134), one (Dav-4137), half and quarter filippo.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 55.34-55.50 g, silver, this specimen is 55,23 g.
