This specimen was lot 1706 in UBS sale 85 (Zürich, September 2010), where it sold for 340 CHF (about US$388 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Chur, Stadt 10 Kreuzer 1630. Gekrönter, nimbierter Doppeladler mit Reichsapfel auf der Brust worin die Wertzahl 10. Rv. Der gekrönte, geharnischte hl. Lucius nach rechts. Kl. Rdf. Fast vorzüglich." (City of Chur, 10 kreuzer of 1630. Obverse: crowned, nimbate double-headed eagle bearing the imperial orb on its breast with the denomination "10." Reverse: crowned, armored figure of St. Luke facing right. A few small rim nicks, nice extremely fine.)
This type was struck 1629-37 in sufficient numbers that it lists in the SCWC as a fairly cheap coin tho this specimen sold for double the catalog value. Chur, among with the rest of Switzerland, left the Empire in 1648 as part of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended the Thirty Years War. Below St. Luke on the reverse is the city arms, which feature a leaping ibex.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.79 g, silver, 28 mm diameter, plain edge, this specimen 3,79 g.
