This specimen was lot 3158 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$159 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Vierer 1785, Bern. FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Bern, vierer of 1785, Bern mint. Uncirculated.)"
This type, worth half a kreuzer, was struck intermittently 1762-66, 1769-71, 1774-81, 1785-97. In the eighteenth century, one thaler was 120 kreuzer.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 0.6 g, billon, 15.4 mm diameter, this specimen 0.66 g.
