This specimen was lot 39336 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $705. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1668-G. Charles II (1665-1700). NGC VF Details--Chopmarked. One small chop on the reverse. Light attractive toning. Pedigree: From the David O'Harrow Collection. Ex: Ponterio & Associates Sale #58 October 17, 1992, Lot #6." This specimen is a silver cob four reales struck at Mexico City 1665-1700. Specimens with clear dates are unusual. In 1728, cobs were debased from .931 to 0.917 fine silver.
