This specimen was lot 3136 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "Norway. Speciedaler, 1650-PG. Frederick III, 1648-1670. Crowned bust right. Reverse: Norwegian lion. Expertly repaired on the edge. Toned. Very Fine." This type, struck 1649-51, is quite expensive.

Recorded mintage: 45,000.

Specification: 28.72 g, 0.875 fine silver.
