This specimen was lot 8215 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Cob 4 Reales, 1595-G F. Granada Mint. Philip II. NGC AU-55. A boldly struck and sharply detailed Cob, with clear date and assayer letter. The obverse is slightly convex and the surfaced toned a medium gray throughout." This type was struck at several mints late in the reign of Philip II, about the same time as the Segovia mint was experimenting with milled coins. Assayer F is listed for 1590-96 as well as some of the prior undated issues.
