This specimen was lot 1156 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRUNSWICK-WOLFENBÜTTEL: Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806, AR thaler, 1790, mintmaster MC, PCGS graded AU58." This type of 1787-96 is probably the most available thaler from this locale for the eighteenth century.
