This specimen is a copper liard struck at the Lille mint in 1779. It is the most common date of the type. Its face value was 3 deniers or one fourth of a sol. The type was struck 1777-91 and is known from Lille for the entire span.

Recorded mintage: 1,181,000.

Specification: 3.06 g, copper, 23.5 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
