This specimen was lot 72201 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. 12 Sols, 1783-A. Louis XVI (1774-93). NGC MS-63. Sharply struck and nicely toned with iridescent highlights and strong underlying luster." This product of the Paris mint is common despite the tiny mintage.

Recorded mintage: 69,510, a common date.

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 21-22 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
