This specimen was lot 73769 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nurnberg. Pfennig, 1687. PCGS MS-62. A nicely preserved and crisply struck uniface Pfennig, with a small hole as is usual for the type (as made). The obverse exhibits a pleasing splash of dark plum toning." This uniface billon coin was struck 1675-1700 and has a low catalog value. The silver purity is not recorded but is likely to be low. It had a face value of one-fourth kreuzer.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: billon, 13.9 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-193.
