This specimen was lot 32981 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hungary. Leopold I Taler 1703-KB AU55 NGC, Kremnitz mint. Surprisingly a less frequently encountered issue, a distinctive glossiness appearing to the obverse, as well as sharply cut details that allow for a full appreciation of the design. From the T. R. Fehrenbach Collection." The last years of the reign of Leopold I and the first years of Joseph I saw the Rakoczi rebellion which nearly toppled Hapsburg rule. The SCWC notes that this type was struck 1703-08 with a frozen date.

Recorded mintage: 814,000.

Specification: 28.82 g, 0.875 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 261, Dav-1004.
